Snippet FAQs

Why do titles truncate if they are under 60 characters?

Google truncates by pixels (~600px), not characters. Wide letters like W and M eat more space, so a 55-character title with wide words can still get cut.

How long should a meta description be?

Aim for 150–160 characters so the full pitch shows on desktop without truncating past ~960px. Front-load the benefit in case Google rewrites it.

Does this tool change my site?
