How to use the checker
Open GPTBot in robots.txt first. This file is a recommendation, not an access gate.

Keep the map small
List 10–30 canonical pages with one-line answers. Park the rest under Optional.
Recheck after nav changes
Stale links undermine the point of curating. Review when cornerstone URLs move.
What a healthy file usually includes
One H1. A quoteable summary. Grouped https links. Descriptions that answer. Optional for everything else.

Does a high llms.txt score mean ChatGPT will cite me?
No. No major AI provider has committed to honoring llms.txt. A high score means the file is a useful Markdown map. Citations still depend on crawl access, answer-ready pages and corroboration.
What should llms.txt contain?
One H1 with the site name, a blockquote summary, H2 sections of 10–30 canonical https links with one-line descriptions, and an Optional section for secondary pages.
Should I publish llms-full.txt too?
Most small business sites only need llms.txt. llms-full.txt inlines full page text and is usually overkill unless you maintain developer docs that assistants ingest on purpose.
