Title and Meta Description Checker
Score whether crawlers can name the page from one unique title and a useful description — not a ranking trick.
What this tool gives you
Check title and meta description
Fetch a public page or paste the head. The checker scores SERP copy hygiene — not ranking folklore.
What this checker looks for
Title and description name the page in SERPs. They do not make ChatGPT cite you.
<title>
Name the page job, then the brand.
One title
Duplicate <title> tags confuse crawlers.
Length
About 15–60 characters for titles.
description
One sentence, about 70–160 characters.
og:title
Share title should match the document title.
og:description
Share blurb should match the meta description.
How to use the checker
Put the page job first. A clever brand-only title still looks blank in a SERP.
Check the live page
Fetch the public URL or paste the head from view-source.
Name title and description
One unique title. One sentence description. Align og:* copy.
Recheck after theme changes
CMS plugins overwrite titles silently. Re-run after launches.
What healthy title tags usually include
Unique title. Useful description. Matching og:title and og:description. No Home / Untitled placeholders.
| Part | Job | Default for public sites |

Title and meta FAQs
Does a longer title make ChatGPT cite my page?
No. Title and description help humans and crawlers name the page. Citations still depend on crawl access, answer-ready content and corroboration.
How long should a title and meta description be?
Aim for about 15–60 characters in the title and 70–160 in the description. Pixel width still truncates, so put the page job first.
Should og:title match the document title?
Yes, closely. Share cards and SERPs should name the same page. A different og:title is fine only when the share context is genuinely different.
