summary_large_image is the safer default.
How to use the checker
Align og:url with the canonical. A pretty card on the wrong URL still splits signals.
Check the live page
Fetch the public URL or paste the head from view-source.
Name title, image, URL
Absolute https image. Same URL as rel=canonical.
Recheck after theme changes
CMS plugins overwrite og:* silently. Re-run after launches.

Title. Description. Absolute HTTPS image. Matching og:url. twitter:card as a fallback.

Does Open Graph make ChatGPT cite my page?
No. og:* tags fill link unfurlers on Slack, X, LinkedIn and iMessage. Citations still depend on crawl access, answer-ready content and corroboration.
What size should og:image be?
Use 1200×630, absolute https, under about 5 MB. WebP or JPG both work. Relative /og.png paths often fail in messengers.
Should og:url match rel=canonical?
Yes. Point both at the same absolute HTTPS URL. Tracking params and hash fragments create duplicate share cards.
