What is a good word count for SEO?
Aim for at least 300 words on service pages and 1,200–2,500 words on blog posts. What matters is coverage: enough words to fully answer the query, not a fixed number. Thin pages under 150 words rarely rank or get quoted.
Why does reading time matter?
Reading time predicts engagement. A 3–6 minute read signals substance to readers and keeps them on the page, which engines interpret as relevance. Fast, scannable copy under 2 minutes works fine for local landing pages.
Is keyword density still a ranking factor?
Not as a hard rule — but a natural 0.5–3% recurrence of your main topic word helps engines confirm what the page is about. Above 5% it looks like stuffing; below 0.5% the page topic can look unfocused.
